Art and teaching is my passion not my job!
I LOVE teaching ART here at BMS. We have an amazing staff that really cares about our student’s education and over all well- being. I have been teaching Art for 30 years, 24 years in the Osseo district and 23 years at Brooklyn Middle Steam School. I’m very passionate about teaching art and letting students of all ages discover their creative potential. I have a personal saying; “You were created to be born therefore you are born to create.”

Teaching Philosophy:
When you catch a fish and give it to someone else you feed them
for a day, when you teach a person to fish you feed them for a lifetime. I
believe that everyone has some kind of natural ability to offer others that will
benefit them and the world we live in. School is that place where you discover
and develop those abilities. Art education is a discipline like any other
subject that takes time, dedication, creative problem solving and decision
making, and applying oneself to the processes at hand. Being in touch with your
creative process helps you better understand yourself, your world, and how you
fit into it.
“The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their
inward significance.”
Aristotle
